Fashion norms shattered, fashion crimes committed and amidst all that new forms took shape. Dhaka's fashion conscious witnessed staging of Aromatic Gold Dhaka Fashion Week 2008. Organised by Tupa and Associates, the week long razzle-dazzle featured ensemble designs by Farah Anjum Bari, Pride, Farzana Shakil, Anokhi, Bangal, Tootli Rahman, Virgo, Jatra, Paira, Sharukh Shahid, Aarong, Taaga by Aarong, Qazi Kamrul, Mishu, Annyamela and Maheen Khan.

The underlying theme of the event was 'Dhaka- The Fusion City', each day presenting designs governed by inspirations drawn from the city from architecture, to the changing hues of the day, to environment of the metropolis.

Make-up was done by Farzana Shakil, and choreography by Tupa; light and sound was by dj Rahat. Artists from Bengal music provided live music during intervals of the show. Ekushey TV, Radio Today, The Editor.net, and Anyadin acted as media partners to the show. The organisers have awarded Farzana Shakil for outstanding contribution in beauty and style, Aarong for outstanding contribution in fashion industry, Maheen Khan for outstanding contribution in fashion design and The Daily Star for outstanding contribution in promoting fashion.
