For the love of Hilsa

There was a 22-day ban on catching hilsa, which lasted till November 4, to ensure safe spawning of the fish during its peak breeding period in the sea, coastal areas and inland rivers of the country.
Consequently, it has been possible to keep the growth of hilsa intact through the free movement of mother hilsa in the breeding grounds as well as by creating better breeding opportunities. It is because of such a dedicated approach that people are able to savour the magnificent flavours of our beloved hilsa, not only in Bangladesh but also globally.
