A depressing picture of a girl carrying a waste bag on her shoulder appeared on The Daily Star on November 24, 2018. There are many such kids around us who are passing their days collecting debris from garbage dumps to earn bread and butter. At this age they are supposed to go to school and play with other children.

The government, NGOs as well as individuals should take initiatives to help these children so that they can go to school and become responsible citizens of this country. We urge them to act now.
