Police picked up Shamsuzzaman Dudu, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, from Mirpur in Dhaka this evening.
Dudu, also secretary of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal, a front organisation of BNP, at Mirpur-2 around 8:30pm, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a media wing staff of Khaleda, told The Daily Star.
The arrest came amid the countrywide nonstop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Khaleda, also head of the alliance, announced the blockade after she was barred from coming out her Gulshan office on Monday afternoon.
