JP (M) candidate wins Kurigram-4 seat

Jatiya Party (Monju) candidate Ruhul Amin, who was leading in the January 5 election of Kurigram-4 constituency, has come out successful after re-election at two polling centres today.
Ruhul bagged 32,607 votes while his nearest candidate Awami League candidate Zakir Hossain got 24,939 votes.
The polls began around 8:00am and ended at 4:00pm without any break.
The voting was held in the two polling centres -- Roumari Keramotia Fazil Madrasa and Char Bandober Government Primary School, reports our Kurigram correspondent.
Huge quantity of police, Bangladesh Border Guard, and Ansar members are on security duty in the election areas to avoid any untoward incident.
During the January 5 parliamentary election, voting was held at 104 out of 106 polling centres and voting was stayed at the two centres due to violence and fixed January 16 for further voting there.
But the High Court, on January 15, stayed the process for four weeks following a writ petition filed by ruling Awami League candidate Zakir Hossain.
On January 19, the Supreme Court cleared the way for holding reelection there.
