A youth was stabbed to death in Saroda Ghosh Road area of the town yesterday.

The victim was identified as Swapan Sarker, 28, son of Renu Sarker of the town's Munshibari area.

Unknown miscreants stabbed Swapan at an under construction building of Saroda Ghosh Road area, leaving him dead on the spot, said Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Kotwali Police Station.

Police sent the body to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The body bore marks of stab injuries in the chest,” the OC said.

Police detained six workers of the under-construction building.
