A court here yesterday sentenced a woman and her paramour for killing her husband in Harirampur upazila under the district in 2011.

Manikganj District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Khan pronounced the verdict around 11:30am in absence of the convicts.

The convicts are Selina Akter, wife of victim rickshawpuller Idris Ali, and her neighbour Nazrul Islam of Kamarghona village of Harirampur.

The court, however, acquitted another accused Dulal Hossain as the charge brought against him could not proved.

Public Prosecutor Abdus Salam said Idris, 35, of Kamarghona village was killed on November 2 in 2011.

Sub-Inspector Mahbubul Alam of Detective Branch of police filed the case against three people, including the victim's wife Selina. Inspector Madan Mohon Banik submitted the charge sheet against the three before the court.
