Voluntary service to repair road

Residents of Nazirpur village in Muladi upazila of the district are voluntarily repairing a brick road at their own initiative to ease communication.
They started this work under Nazirpur Swechchhaseba Sangha of the union on December 10.
"This voluntary organisation was established in 2011 and has done some works for public benefit. We have set up some dustbins and repaired roads," said president of the organisation Rakibul Islam.
"The three-kilometre brick road from Nazirpur Primary School to United College has been in a dilapidated condition for long and it is very difficult to travel on it, so we decided to repair the road on our imitative," he added.
Fifty members of the organisation have taken the initiative to repair the road, villagers said. There are three educational institutions in the area and the students have to attend them, so it was necessary to repair the road, they added.
"We are very happy to construct the road with our own labuour," said Shah Alam Mridha, Headmaster of Char Alimabad Secondry School.
Chairman of Nazirpur Union Parishad Abu Hasnat congratulated the villagers for repairing the road, adding that he would propose building of a new road in the village.
