US-Bangla plane makes emergency landing at Dhaka airport

A Malaysia-bound US-Bangla aircraft made an emergency landing 15 minutes after taking off at Dhaka airport this morning.
The emergency landing of the plane took place at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as the pilot of the plane received a “false indication” from the aircraft after taking off at 8:45am, Kamrul Islam, a spokesperson of US Bangla Airlines, told The Daily Star.
However, the flight carrying 164 passengers resumed journey towards its destination at 11:45 am upon receiving clearance from Civil Aviation authorities, Kamrul also said.
“No faults were found following a thorough checkup on the craft after its emergency landing” Kamrul Islam added.
At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, were killed when the plane, a 76-seater Bombardier Dash 8 Q-400, slammed on an empty field, caught fire, and came to a rest on a football pitch on March 12.
