A court here yesterday granted bail to Mayor Jamilur Rahman Miron and Krishak Sramik Janata League central leader Azad Siddique in the case for killing Awami League (AL) leader Aminur Rahman Khan Bappy.

The duo surrendered to the First Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court and prayed for bail. Judge Abul Mansur Miah granted them bail, said Court Inspector Anwarul Islam.

Miron is organising secretary of district AL.

Bappy, elder brother of lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana, was killed near his College Para residence on November 21, 2003.

Two days later, Bappy's father Ataur Rahman Khan filed a case with Tangail Police Station, accusing 20 people.
