A fire at Felabunia bazar in Rangabali upazila of the district totally gutted six shops on Sunday midnight.

Locals put out the fire in four hours. Assets over Tk 50 lakh were damaged, said upazila parishad Chairman Md Delwar Hossain.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kazi Alim Ullah assured shop owners that steps would be taken to provide help to the affected shop owners after preparation of a list.

Locals said the fire originated from an electronic shop owned by Robiul Hasan and immediately spread to nearby shops.
