Schoolboy killed over carom game
A 13-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari on Monday as a sequel to a feud allegedly over playing carom.
The deceased, Akash Mollah, son of Moshial Mollah of Paikkandi village was a student of Class VIII at Baliakandi Pilot High School.
Following a case filed by the deceased's mother, police detained eight people for their alleged involvement in the murder, police said.
Moshial said Akash had an altercation with one Mashuk Mollik, 16, son of Nurul Mollik of the village, over playing carom about a month ago.
As a sequel, Mashuk and six of his supporters stabbed Akash in front of his house on Monday afternoon, leaving him critically injured. He died on way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 5:30pm.
