Some silver ornaments, a donation box and other valuables were stolen from a temple in the town yesterday.

The theft occurred in the early hours at Anandamoyee Kali Mondir in Tanker Par area, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station Md Nabir Hossain told this correspondent.

Kali Mondir Trust Committee President Prantosh Chowdhury said a group of thieves entered the temple breaking the locks of the collapsible gate and stole some silver ornaments decorating the idol of Kali. They also stole the donation box. The priest of the temple saw the broken locks around 6:00am yesterday.
