Missing schoolboys found dead in Jessore, Faridpur

Two schoolboys, who went missing from Jessore and Faridpur districts on April 11 and April 14, were found dead yesterday and on Wednesday night.

Our Benapole correspondent reported that Abhaynagar police in Jessore recovered the body of an 11-year-old schoolboy from Teka River on Wednesday evening.

The deceased, Sajedur Rahman Shahed, son of Saiful Islam of Panchakari village in Monirampur upazila, was a Class V student at Nehalpur Pre-Cadet School.

Quoting victim's family members, Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station, said Shahed went out of his house on April 11 and remained missing since then.

Victim's uncle Rabiul Islam later lodged a general diary (GD) with Monirampur Police Station.

Locals spotted Shahed's body floating on the river on Wednesday evening and informed the police. Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.

Away in Faridpur, a schoolboy, who remained missing since April 14, was found dead at Pashra village in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.

The deceased is Azam, 14, a Class VIII student at Pashra MN Aziz High School.

Locals found Azam's body floating in a pond adjacent to his school in the morning and informed the police, said Sayed Mohsinul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Azam's father Sheikh Farid said his son went out of his house to attend a function, marking the Pahela Baishakh on Tuesday and did not return.
