Kid, teenager raped in Jashore, B'baria
An eight-year-old child was raped in Ghop area of Jashore town on Saturday night, while a teenage girl was raped in Brahmanbaria on April 11.
Our Benapole Correspondent reports: A girl student of Class I went to attend a function at Jashore Central Jail School ground with three friends, said the victim's father.
When the girl was returning home at night, Murad, 22 son of Alauddin of Ghop Road in the town, took her behind his house and raped her, he added.
Hearing the girl's screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued her, but Murad escaped. She was admitted to Jashore General Hospital.
Our Brahmanbaria Correspondent adds: A teenage girl was raped by a neighbour at Borishol village under Sadar upazila on April 11.
Police recorded the case on April 19, eight days after the incident.
During this time, a few local Awami League leaders tried to save the rapist from police custody after police detained him, alleged the victim's mother, a poor woman.
According to the case statement, the victim was going to her maternal aunt's home on April 11 when Ali Akbar Bhuiyan, 55, of the same village, forcibly took her to the nearby shed of shallow tube-well and raped her. Passersby heard the girl's screams and rescued her. They took the girl to her mother, who took her to a private clinic.
Police detained Bhuiyan on April 18 after the mother lodged a verbal complaint against him on April 17. He was sent to jail through a court on April 20.
The girl was sent to Sadar Hospital for medical test the same day.
Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Ziaul Hoque said they are waiting for medical report.
