Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an Indian with four gold bars weighting two kg (worth Tk 1 crore) from Amrakhali area under Benapole Port Police Station yesterday.

The arrestee is Ismail Hossain, 34, son of Mohammad Ali of Chennai city in India.

Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB 49 Battalion, said on secret information, they raided the area and arrested Ismail with the gold bars.

A case was filed with the police station in this connection, he said.
