Two officials of DAP Fertiliser Company Ltd in Anwara upazila were made officer in special duty (OSD) after they were found responsible for the recent ammonia tank blast in Chittagong.

Deputy Chief Engineer (electrical) Dilip Kumar Barua and General Manager (Technical and Maintenance Service) Nokibul Islam were made OSD and attached to DAP managing director's office, Alamgir Jalil, General Manager (Admin) of DAP, told our Chittagong correspondent.

The duo were earlier held accused by a probe committee on August 31 in connection with the ammonia tank explosion on August 22, which caused 250 workers and locals fall sick after inhaling ammonia gas in Chittagong. 

The orders were issued on Monday and were carried out today, the GM added.

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Mohammed Iqbal confirmed the incident.
