Three school kids landed in Akhaura Upazila Health Complex on Sunday as they were beaten mercilessly by their teacher for not solving their mathematics problem.

The children are Maruf Sarkar, son of Humayon Sarkar, Nirob Bhuiyan, son of Shariful Islam Bhuiyan and Lukman Hossain, son of Mojammel Hoque of Darkhar village. They all are Class IV students at Notun Kuri Kindergarten.

Nirob's uncle Panir Bhuiyan said their teacher Mainuddin Rony beat them severely with a steel scale after making them put their heads under the bench. The teacher gave them corporal punishment for not solving their mathematics problem.

Later, the injured kids were admitted to the health complex, said Panir.

Despite repeated calls, the accused teacher could not be reached for his comment.
