The cross-examination of Nahar Ahmed, first prosecution witness of freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case, was completed yesterday at the First Additional and District Judge's Court in Tangail.

Prime accused Awami League lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana was on the dock during the hearing.

Rana's lawyer advocate Abdul Baki Miah cross-examined Nahar, widow of Faruk Ahmed and also plaintiff of the case, for the fifth occasion, said Monirul Islam, additional public prosecutor (APP) in Tangail.     

After completion of the hearing, Judge Abul Mansur Miah fixed June 27 for hearing of the next prosecution witnesses, he said.

The bullet-hit body of Tangail AL leader Faruk, 60, was found near his College Para home in the town on January 18, 2013, hours after he was shot dead.

Rana is in jail after he surrendered to the court on September 18, 2016 in the case.
