Bright British-Bangladeshi students awarded in London

Bangladesh High Commission conferred awards to British-Bangladeshi brilliant students at Kensington Town Hall in London yesterday.

The high commission awarded a total of 88 students who achieved at least 10 'A'/'A*' in GCSE and 3 'A'/'A*' in 'A' level examinations, according to a press release floated to media today.

The awardees received a crest and a certificate from the Guests of Honour and Special Guests.

High Commissioner Md Nazmul Quaunine for the first time recognised the students who have done exceedingly well in Bangla examination.

Eminent journalist, columnist and writer Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was presented with Life Time Achievement Award, said the release.

Among others, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Foreign Affairs President Dr Dipu Moni were present at the occasion as Guests of Honour.

A cultural programme was also held to showcase the rich heritage of Bangladesh.
