A mobile court in a drive yesterday removed illegal structures from the footpaths in the town and arrested seven drug users.

The arrestees are Farid Ali, 48, Ramjan Ali, 45, Saiful Islam, 40, Abdus Salam, 40, Saidur Rahman, 50, Moniruzzaman, 45, and Haniful Islam, 40.

Deputy Commissioner Md Jasim Uddin, Superintendent of Police Md Jihadul Kabir and Pabna municipality Mayor Kamrul Hasan Mintu jointly led the court.

During the drive, the court removed the makeshift shops from Abdul Hamid Road, Roopkatha Road and Hazi Md Mohsin Road.

The drive will continue, said the DC.

They are running anti-drug movement to nab the drug peddlers and users to free the district from illegal drug trade, said the SP.

During the drive, police arrested the seven from Pabna Amin Uddin Law College premises in the town when they were taking drugs, said the police official.
