4 SSC examinees kill selves

Three candidates of Rajbari, Gopalganj and Brahmanbaria allegedly committed suicide after failing in this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations on Sunday.

Meanwhile, an SSC examinee killed herself for not achieving expected result in Dinajpur yesterday.

Dakhil examinee Hasib Khan, 17, son of Edris Ali of Rajbari's Kalukhali upazila took his life by hanging himself, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

He appeared in the exam from a local madrasa, said Md Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kalukhali Police Station.

When Hasib saw that he failed in one subject after the result of the examination was published on Sunday, he killed himself at his home, said the OC. 

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection, he said.

Another SSC examinee committed suicide after failing in the examinations at Hajararkandi village in Kotalipare upazila of Gopalganj.

The deceased was Puja Baroi, 16, daughter of Subod Chandro Baroi of the village. She was a student of Probo Kotalipara Union High School.

OC Md Kamrul Faruk of Kotalipara Police Station said Puja took her life by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room around 4:00pm.

The body was sent to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case was filed with the police station, he said.

In Brahmanbaria, Mahbuba Akter Meem, 15, sat in this year's SSC examination from Dhariarchar Haji Omar Ali High School in the district but failed.

She was the daughter of Md Selim of Mayrampur village in Bancharampur upazila, reports our correspondent.

Police and family members said Meem was in a depressed mood since the results were published. She killed herself by taking poison.

According to our Dinajpur correspondent, SSC candidate Bhumika Rani Roy, 16, daughter of Hemanta Chandra Roy of Birganj upazil, committed suicide yesterday as she did not achieve expected result.

She got GPA 3.61, said family members.
