Twenty-five Jamaat men were detained by police from Dashtika Dakkhinpara village in Sadar upazila on Monday while they were holding a secret meeting.

Police said they were planning sabotage centering the next national poll. Police say they got several leaflets and seized 10 motorcycles from the spot.

Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohsin Reza filed a case as the plaintiff with the police station, accusing the detainees of planning sabotage. Police sent them to the court on Tuesday, showing them arrested in the case. The court sent them to jail.

Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of the police station Md Kamruzzaman Mia said the arrested Shibir and Jamaat activists from Dupchanchia, Kahaloo and Sadar upazilas held a secret meeting at Dashtika Dakkhinpara.

The arrestees include union unit Jamaat President Zahidur Rahman, 60, Russell Ziladar, 29, Touhidul Islam, 35, Shamim Alam, 37, Kamrul Islam,18, Raihan Ali, 35, Lutfar Rahman, 57, Ramjan Ali, 56, Mujibur Rahman, 59, Mahfuzur  Rahman, 57, Abu Bakkar Siddique, 32, and Shahidur Rahman, 54.
