Father of rape and murder victim Beauty Akter, 16, filed a case with Shayestaganj Police Station in Habiganj on Sunday night.

“Key accused Babul Mia, 30, and 10 others were mentioned in the case filed by Sayed Ali of Brahmondora village. The accused went into hiding,” said OC Anisur Rahman.

“Amid stalking by Babul, son of Malai Mia of the village, my daughter stopped going to school and took job at RFL Company one year ago. Babul and his gang raped her on January 21 when she was returning home from office,” said Sayed, who later filed a rape case with a Habiganj court against Babul gang.

As Babul gave threat to withdraw the case, Sayed sent his daughter to a relative's house in Lakhai upazila on March 13.

On Friday night, she went missing and police recovered her body the next day.
