Two days after the death of Tapan Jyoti Chakma alias Borma, convener of UPDF-Democratic, a new central committee of the regional party was formed on Sunday.

A press release informed about the formation of the 11-member committee, with Jalya Chakma as president and Ujjal Kanti Chakma as general secretary.

The release said the committee was unanimously formed on the basis of discussion.

Borma was shot dead on May 4 in Naniachar upazila of Rangamati district while he was on his way to join the funeral of Shaktima Chakma, chairman of Naniachar upazila parisad.
