United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Executive Director Dr Natalia Kanem arrives today on a four-day visit to Bangladesh. 

During her visit, she will meet prime minister, speaker and health and foreign affairs ministers to discuss the progress of Bangladesh on health, population, gender, family planning and maternal health issues.

She will also hold meetings with UN agencies, development partners, civil society and the media to share her views on Bangladesh’s progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

During her meetings, Kanem will discuss Bangladesh’s current maternal health, family planning, adolescent and youth, gender equality and population issues.

She will also visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar and meet Rohingya women and girls at UNFPA-supported reproductive health clinics and Women Friendly Spaces.
