Miscreants shot two employees of bKash and Robi at Chandna crossing and looted Tk 15 lakh yesterday.

The victims are bKash employee Iqbal Hossain (35) and Robi operator Asaduzzaman (30). They were initially admitted into a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Sub-inspector Enayet Hossain of Joydevpur Police Station said, three people – two from bKash and one from Robi -- carrying Tk 15 lakh in a bag were going to UCB Bank at Unishey Tower, Chandna crossing to deposit the money.

When they reached the staircase of the bank, six muggers on motorbikes attacked them. Four of the gang beat them and opened fire.

The two bKash and Robi employees sustained bullet injuries in the legs. The miscreants sped from the scene. They went towards Mymensingh.

SI Enayet also said that police recovered a revolver and five bullets. He said, law enforcement agencies at different places have been sent message to arrest the miscreants and drives are going on.

Zakir Hossain, bKash manager of Jamaddar Telecom at Chandna crossing, confirmed that bKash and Robi operators run their business activities under the telecom.
