A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced two fugitives to life imprisonment in a murder case that was lodged with Double Mooring Police Station 20 years ago.

It also fined Md Ersad and Moslem Uddin Babu Tk 10,000 each, in default of which they would have to serve three more months in jail.

The two have been on the run since they walked out from the jail on bail.

According to the case statement, Abu Taher, son of Abul Khayer, was stabbed to death by four people inside one Rajesthan Hotel under Double Mooring Police Station on December 10, 1996.
