BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday said US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital would seriously affect peace and stability in the Middle East.

Expressing deep concern, the former premier in a statement said this decision would also affect the two-state solution efforts and urged trump to review the decision.

“I am deeply worried like other peace-loving people of the world over the fresh commotion in the Middle East generated by Trump's recognition...,” she said.

Khaleda thinks the US president's decision is a slap on the right and desire of Palestinian people to live independently in their own country.
