Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum observed a token hunger strike on the Dhaka court premises yesterday, demanding immediate release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

On February 8, a special court of Dhaka sentenced Khaleda to five years' rigorous imprisonment in a corruption case. It also sentenced her son Tarique Rahman and four others to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment.

The pro-BNP lawyers' organisation observed the strike between 2:30pm and 4:00pm.
