Demanding that women involved in farming to be officially recognised as farmers, Steps Towards Development and World Vision Bangladesh yesterday organised a views-exchange meeting titled “Right to Food: Bangladesh Gender Perspective” in the capital's Cirdap auditorium.

The discussants made 13 recommendations to ensure women's rights.

Dr Abdur Razzak, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on finance ministry, Fred Witteveen, national director of World Vision Bangladesh, and Dr Mahbuba Nasrin of Dhaka University, participated.
