Prof Muhammad Yunus was awarded Concordia Leadership Award 2016 on Tuesday on the second day of the two-day leadership summit in New York.

José Manuel Durão Barroso, former president of the European Commission and former prime minister of Portugal, handed over the award to the Nobel laureate, according to a statement of Yunus Centre.

The award recognises global leaders within the public, private, and nonprofit sectors who inspire others through their ability to turn vision into impact.
