Pope Francis’ message to Bangladesh

Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church has sent his message of peace to Bangladesh ahead of his scheduled visit later this month.
“As I prepare to visit Bangladesh in a few days from now I want to send a message of greeting and friendship to all its people,” Pope Francis said.
“I come as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to proclaim its message of reconciliation, forgiveness and peace,” he said in a video message.
“My visit is meant to confirm the Catholic community of Gospel which teaches the dignity of every man and woman and command us to open our hearts to others, especially to the poor and those in need,” he said in the message.

He said he looks forward to meetings with religious leaders in Dhaka.
“I ask everyone to pray that my days among you will be a source of hope and support for everyone,” he concluded in the message.
The video message was broadcast at a view exchange programme today at Ramna Cathedral arranged ahead of Pope Francis’ visit. Cardinal Patrick D Rozario and Bishop Sarat Francis Gomes were present at the programme.
The pope is scheduled to arrive on a three-day visit on November 30 to December 2.
