Monju rejects polls results
Bringing allegation of irregularities, BNP's defeated mayoral candidate Nazrul Islam Monju rejected the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) polls results.
On the other hand, Khulna mayor-elect Talukder Abdul Khaleque claimed that the election was held amid fair and free atmosphere.
They said the above at separate press conferences yesterday.
Khaleque, at Khulna Press Club, said if vote rigging did take place, how the BNP candidate got so many votes.
People want to see development and that is why they voted him, he said.
He also invited Monju to work together.
Meanwhile, Monju while speaking at the press conference held at the party office on KD Gosh Road brought allegations of irregularities at 105 centres and demanded re-election at those centres.
He also demanded that the vote casting be investigated in 45 centres.
