Milon Kanti Datta and Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad (BPUP) for the next two years.

They were elected at a two-day biennial council, which ended yesterday, in the capital's Dhakeshwari National Temple, said a press release.

District councillors and delegates of the BPUP joined the council where Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was a special guest. Jayanta Sen Dipu and advocate Tapash Kumar Pal were president and secretary respectively in the last committee.
