Man loses hand in Rajib-esque accident
A masonry labourer lost his right hand in a road mishap in Rajshahi yesterday.
Mohammad Babu, 25, of Chapainawabganj was undergoing surgery at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital last night, Shakil Uddin Ahmed, OC of Puthia said.
Babu was travelling by bus and kept his right hand out of the window. A truck hit his hand while passing closely by the bus at around 4:00pm, said the OC, quoting witnesses.
His hand was severed in the accident, and he was taken directly to RMCH, he said.
Babu went to Sirajganj for work, and was returning home.
He told reporters at the hospital that his family is dependent on his earnings.
On April 4, Rajib Hossain, a student of Government Titumir College in Dhaka lost his right hand when it got stuck between two buses in the capital's Banglamotor area. He later died on April 17.
