Rapid Action Battalion today claimed arrest of a man from Dhaka who took Tk 50 lakh from a Bangladeshi-origin British citizen posing as a source of law enforcers.

Rab-4 arrested Haji Alam from Dia Bari area of Dhaka, a text message of the elite force said. Alam allegedly took the money in assurance of tracing a missing member of the family of the British citizen.

The family filed a general diary with the Bhashantek Police Station in the capital.

Details will be disclosed at a press briefing to be held later in the day.
