Govt to ensure punishment of terrorists: Anisul

The government will prove that it can punish terrorists and fundamentalists involved in brutal murders and cyber terrorism, said Law Minister Anisul Huq yesterday.

He was addressing a discussion titled "Cyber Terrorism by Terrorists and Fundamentalist: Duty of Government and Civilians" organised by Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee in the capital.  

The minister said the public would see a new Evidence Act early next year.

Tureen Afroz, prosecutor of the International Crime Tribunals, pointed out some weaknesses of the draft of Cyber Security Act, 2015. She suggested including the provision of compensation to the victims of cyber crimes. State Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak also  spoke.
