First phase of ICT training kicks off

The first round of ICT training for 24,000 volunteers kicked off yesterday aiming at preparing and building up a skilled workforce to support 2,001 labs set up in schools and colleges across the country.

Held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dhaka, designated persons, along with volunteers from 20 schools across the capital attended the event.

"Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT, inaugurated the session through video conference while Banamali Bhowmik, director general of the Department of ICT, and Mohammad Salahuddin, DC, Dhaka, were present," said Tonmoy Ahmed, assistant coordinator of the Centre for Research and Information (CRI).

The ICT Division in collaboration with CRI, a non-profit group, is conducting the training.
