A garment factory was gutted by fire in Konabari BSIC industrial area of Gazipur early yesterday.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of the two-storey structure of “Kader Synthetic Fibers Factory” around 2:00am and soon engulfed the entire building, said Gazipur fire officials.

However, the officials neither could ascertain the reason behind the blaze nor could estimate the damage immediately. Fire fighters doused the blaze around 8:15am.
