With participants from 23 countries including Bangladesh and the United States, an exercise on the United Nations peace operations, named "Exercise Shanti Doot-4", started yesterday.

The 15-day exercise at the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT), Rajendrapur Cantonment, will continue till March 12, said a press release of the US Embassy in Dhaka.

The exercise will include officers from Bangladesh Armed Forces, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines and South Korea.

The training will be facilitated by an international cadre of instructors with extensive peacekeeping experience.
