Eid bus ticket sale begins

Private bus operators yesterday started selling advance tickets for home-goers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, likely to be celebrated on September 12.

Hundreds of people thronged different bus terminals to collect tickets for ensuring hassle-free journey. The tickets seekers had to wait in long queues for a long time.

Zamirul Islam, a private employee, said he had to wait for around five hours to get tickets of Dinajpur from a counter in the capital's Gabtoli terminal.

Many could not buy tickets of their convenient time.

The bus operators are charging extra fare amid the rush, an allegation from many denied by Romesh Chandra Ghosh, vice chairman of Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association.
