A Chittagong court yesterday granted two-day remand for a BCL Chittagong University (CU) unit activist in the murder case of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Sudipto Biswas.

Rubel Dey, a master’s student of the English department of CU, was arrested by police in the port city’s Panchliash area on Wednesday.

Sudipto, assistant secretary of BCL Chittagong city unit, was killed before his house in the port city’s South Nala Para area on October 6 last year.

With Rubel, police so far have arrested five people while two of them gave confessional statements before a court, said Sadarghat police.

Following the confessional statements, police arrested Rubel.
