Ctg youth stabbed dead for harassing woman
A youth was stabbed to death following an incident of harassment of a woman in Chittagong city's Bayezid area on Friday night.
The deceased is Abul Kashem, 20, son of Abdus Sabur from Pabna, said police.
Police arrested two alleged harassers -- Shakil and Farhad.
The 20-year-old woman, who is an RMG worker, along with one of her male friends, was walking along a road in Mazar area, said Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Police Station.
At that time, three youths started making “indecent comments” towards them, he said.
The duo protested against such behaviour, prompting the three to call Kashem, one of their friends, over the phone to teach them a lesson, said the OC.
In retaliation, the woman also called one of her friends, he said.
When Kashem and the other man arrived, one of the woman's friends stabbed the former and fled the scene, the OC added.
When police rushed to the spot, they found the woman, and Shakil and Farhad, he added.
Police filed a murder case while the woman lodged a harassment case.
