BNP chalks out 12-day programme
The BNP has chalked out a 12-day programme to observe Martyred Intellectuals' Day and Victory Day.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters following a joint meeting of its front and associate bodies.
The party will pay homage to martyred intellectuals at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Memorial in the morning of December 14 under the leadership of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
It will also keep the national flag at half-mast and hoist black flags atop its offices marking the day.
Apart from that, the party will arrange a discussion in the city's Mohanagar Natya Mancha on December 13.
Khaleda along with the party leaders and activists will place wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar on Victory Day on December 16.
To mark the day, it will also hoist national and party flags atop the party offices in the morning.
She will also place wreaths at the grave of late BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital the same day.
The party will bring out a Victory Day procession in the capital on December 17 and will also hold a discussion in the city on December 19.
Moreover, Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal will hold a programme on December 24 at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
