The Bangladeshi diaspora in Milan of Itlay held a rally in Caiozzo on Sunday protesting the recent attack incident in which Bangladeshi worker Swapan was stabbed to death by two muggers.

On April 27, Shamsul Haq Swapan, son of Anwar Hossain, was stabbed to death when he was returning home from a restaurant where he used to work.

Earlier in 2017, another expatriate Jamal Ahmed had his left ear bitten off when he tried to resist a mugger at his office in Milan. The demonstrators demanded justice for Swapan, and security and safety for workers. Several hundred Bangladeshi expatriates attended the rally.
