Four alleged drug peddlers were arrested with huge amounts of Yaba pills in separate drives in Chittagong during the last two days.

On Sunday, a team of Rab-7 intercepted a microbus in Nijampur area in Mirsarai and arrested Biplob Miah, 32, and Suman Miah, 28.

The team found 1.24 lakh Yaba pills inside the vehicle, said Mimtanur Rahman, media officer of Rab-7.

During interrogation, the duo confessed to possessing the tablets, said the Rab official, adding that a case was filed against them.

Meanwhile, the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested two people with 5,800 Yaba tablets in the port city's Kotwali area yesterday.

Rashid Ahmed, 60, and Farid Ahmed, 52, were arrested during a drive in Bridgeghat area while they were getting on a rickshaw upon their return from Teknaf, DNC officials said.

A case was filed against them in this connection.
