2 Rohingyas' attempt to get passports foiled
Police yesterday sent two Rohingya women back to Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox's Bazar from Regional Passport Office, Mymensingh where they went to apply for passports by using fake identity.
Salma Khatun, 25, mentioned her address in Rangpur while Romicha Khatun, 30, in Gaibandha, said Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
They also mentioned that they were married, he said.
When the Rohingyas could not mention their husbands' names, they were handed over to police, said the OC.
Another woman Sabiqunnahar, 22, was arrested as she brought the two to the passport office, he said.
