Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) and police in separate raids held two persons and seized 19,000 yaba pills from them in Chittagong city yesterday.

Police arrested Naznin Khan Mukta, 23, a female cricketer from Shah Amanat Bridge intersection with 14,000 yaba pills.

Acting on information, police intercepted a passenger bus of Green Line and searched her luggage where they found the tablets. A case was lodged against her.

In another incident, DNC detained, Md Ziaul Haque, 25, with 5,000 yaba pills.

He was detained while secretly transporting yaba in two cosmetic cream packets and one mobile phone packet. 

He was handed over to police and a case was lodged.
