Expo on green dev starts Thursday

A four-day Bangladesh Infrastructure Innovation and Development (BIID) Expo and Dialogue 2018 will begin in Dhaka on Thursday to showcase the development of green industries and raise awareness on issues of environment protection.

ExpoNet Exhibition, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (Sreda) will organise the event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

About 90 leading companies from 14 countries, including Bangladesh, will showcase their energy efficient and innovative industrial technology like generators, substations and electrical equipment, building materials, heat control and air conditioning systems, LED and new lighting, motors and pumps and brick machinery.

Power and energy, infrastructure and green building, knitting, garments and textile, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, leather and PVC industry stakeholders will take part at the exposition's ninth edition, the organisers told a press meet on Sreda's premises in the capital on Sunday.

International experts, government officials, local businessmen and specialists, including 60 reputed speakers, will be exchanging knowledge on eco-friendly industries in six sessions.

 “We organise networking exhibition and trade dialogue to uphold cross border new business horizon. And aligned with the country's Vision 2021, our goal is to promote green trade and innovative ideas followed by several brainstorming sessions,” said Md Helal Uddin, chairman of Sreda.

 “The expo and the dialogue will help students learn from the expert how to apply green and clean energy technology interventions,” said Rashedul Haque, managing director of ExpoNet Exhibition.
